This story really touched me. For the record, I would have done the same, and I would hope that someone would do the same for me. As Mrs. G said in her comment, We all need a little grace.
In the days of sanctimommies and assvice and crazy crazy judging, it's quite a concept.

You're right. A little kindness can go a long way.

It would do me a world of good if you would do a single mama round-up of blogs so we could reach out to each other. Thanks for bringing this story to my attention.

I completely agree, and commented the same to Laura. I would have done the exact same thing. My brother and I were latchkey kids, and we were FINE. I'm sorry that the little boy was scared, but I don't think the mom had any malice in doing what she did. She doesn't need DFS, she needs A Village. I think what Laura did was lovely.

I'm not a single mom, but with three kids I've caught myself contemplating doing something similar. I'm so glad this mama was met with compassion instead of detached judgement.

I have spent many a half hour gallavanting in the fields behind my house with my four year old while my now 17 month old slept inside. I knew he was safe in his crib and I could see the house at all times. How quickly something could happen though. We all make decisions as parents that in no way should incriminate us or label us as poor caregivers. My mother in law once told me HER ex-mother-in law threatened to call CPS because my sister in law (age 7) would sit on their steps and wait for my husband to get home from school. It was a wait of maybe 5-10 minutes in a time when there were few options to a single working mother with school aged kids. More understand is truly needed in this world.

The Minnesota Wild have made Mike Yeo their new head coach bags, according to a person with knowledge of the decision. The person spoke to The Associated Press Thursday on condition of anonymity because the team had not announced the hire. The Wild called a Friday news conference at Xcel Energy Center in St.missseo

Not only an excellent way to promote a new business, but a reliable way to increase sales. In this economy, this is definately a way to sustain your growth. Who doesn't need more clients? Give it away if you can, and keep traffic coming in!

I think you're wrong. I'm sure. I can prove it.
