I've gotten a couple requests for links to single-mom blogs. And I've been sitting on a post about single-mom blogs because I couldn't figure out how to "frame" them. You know, how to start and end with some quirky annoying little anecdote about me, me, me and my kid, my kid, my kid, blah blah run-on sentence punchline the end blah.
(OMG, I just gave away the secret recipe to my blogging success! Now you know!)
But everything I tried seemed kind of forced and weird, and I still ended up saying something like, "so, uh...here are some links!"

In the past, no list of single-mom blogs would be complete without a mention of Mir over at Woulda Coulda Shoulda and Jen at Jennnster. But they've gone and gotten engaged and are going and getting married like, incredibly soon. Well fine! Mess up my nice neat category! And also, congratulations, you crazy kids.
I can not imagine how much easier my life of a single mom (in college! insane!) would have been if I had blogs to read about it. Great topic.

this is such an awesome list!!! and i was a single mom FOR SO MANY YEARS that i still consider myself one. it's weird... i really do still see myself as a single mom- even though i am planning this ginormous event for june! WOO HOO!!!!

Amy, have you read baggageandbug.com? She's single, an ex-Marine (disabled vet I think), raising one adopted preteen daughter and 3 foster kids. She is fabulous- very real, very honest, very candid.
Everytime I read her blog, I think "yes!"- it is possible for single moms to survive and thrive. I'm so impressed with the challenges she has taken on, and the pluck she shows in dealing with the obstacles.
Plus, its not your ordinary single-mom story- adoption, foster care, infertility, homeschooling, public schooling, its all there.
Just thought I'd point it out!

Please consider my blog www.howtobeasinglemom.com to add to your list. I focus on the bones of single parenting (i.e. finances, women's rights, financial aid, and governmental support). I know there's a lot of places to go for help in raising your children, but I try to help with keeping your head above water.
