Sorry for the impromptu store theme this week, but I'm a little behind on my parentblog reading, and it's all Nancy's fault. She left a comment over at my AlphaMom thingie and included a link to Ikea Hacker, which may just be the most awesome thing I have ever seen, except maybe for the Gallery of Regrettable Food.
Long-time readers probably know my complicated love-hate relationship with Ikea.I know, in the end, I will be disappointed and frustrated and that after assembling an entire TV cabinet I will realize that I installed the bottom shelf upside down, but you know what? I will just put some books on that bottom shelf so no one will notice it's the wrong color. But I am just a sucker for cheap furniture. And 99-cent hot dogs. And inflatable turtles.
So the Ikea Hacker blog features tons of mods and fixes and ideas for improving your Ikea furniture. Want to marker-proof your kids' table? Need some shoe storage? Is your significant other's electric razor taking up valuable hair-product counterspace in the bathroom?
Man, it's freaking brilliant. Now if you'll excuse me, I'm off to create myself a chalkboard table. I mean, for NOAH. Of course.

I heart Ikea Hacker lots. I tracked down our new media unit thru that site.

I am addicted to www.ikeafans.com. We are doing our kitchen with Ikea cabinets (which are very high quality, thankyouverymuch) and it has been soooo helpful.

I clicked through to the Ikea Hacker through you! I do like it. My husband and I don't consider ourselves grownups yet since almost all our stuff comes from Ikea!
I thought about the chalkboard table, but am not so crazy about chalk. I wonder if there is dry-erase paint out there?

I was always so good at procrastinating. I am like a vortex of procrastination. Now it is spreading through the computer.

Nice how your husband is sporting the hamburger meat. Classy.

Wow. That site rocks.
I wonder if there's a good hack for that turtle? You know, after it becomes tired. Maybe a jumpsuit -- not unlike this pillowcase skirt: http://ikeahacker.blogspot.com/2006/10/woo-ikea-skirt.html
