Amy - thanks for this post, and for including all the links. It's exactly what I need today.

I've only choked up while reading something online once before. I actually bawled all morning while reading these tributes. It's surreal; I look at my five-year-old who was just a baby when this happened and I have to ask, are we different now? Have we changed? Thanks Amy.

I am remembering Sgt. Tamara Thurman

God Bless you Tamara and all who lost their lives so needlessly.

Yeah, it's quite a commentary on how much 9/11 still affects us all that dcroe's site is flooded and overwhelmed today.
I took part, as well, honoring Peter Gay, who was on American Airlines Flight 11 when it struck the North Tower of the WTC.

Black Belt Mama

As someone who participated by writing a tribute, I must say that it felt good to do something for one of the victims, to remember the person who left here, not the attackers.

You know, since the 2,996 blog seems to be floundering, I thought you'd like another site that references the list:

How do you access a blog that doesn't have a direct hook on the 2,996 site? I'd like to read the one that honors a friend but I can't figure out how to do it.

Carrie

The 2996 project was such a cool thing to be a part of. There were so many emotions that ran through me, the strongest being "I need to do this stranger's memory good". I hope I did that.

Carrie

Kelly

Thank you for this post.

I was honored to be a part of the tribute as well.

Bernard and Richard will never be forgotten.

Thanks for the mention about the 2996 project. I hope people do read my tribute to Major Clifford L Patterson, who died at the Pentagon on 9/11. We will always remember him, and all the other people who died such a senseless death that day.

I did the 2996 project post honoring Steven Chucknick at my blog:

I've written about the quiet man, the elusive Albert Ogletree:

Thanks, MelanieinOrygun, for the alternate listing site.

I remember William R. Johnston, a FDNY firefighter who died in the North Tower. Thanks for spreading the word, Amy.

Thank you for the list, Amy. I am so proud of the ClubMom bloggers who took part. I'm not the blogger who wrote the tribute but I remember Firefighter Vinnie Kane. http://www.mshellb.com/?p=286

Amalah

Thank you, everyone who stopped by to share your part in the tribute. It's really been wonderful to read them all.

Kate

I remember Robert Levine.
