The Return of the JCMHSGBAOE!

Did you miss it? The John Cougar Mellencamp Hurt So Good Blog Award of Excellence went on an unannounced hiatus last week, mostly because I just plain forgot about it.

I hope this does not tarnish the prestige of this totally important and not-fake award.

Anyway! It's back, baby. And ready to uncover yet another of the best blogs that you aren't reading yet.

This week's recipient is not only all kinds of superfantastic, but is also EXACTLY the kind of blog I must get weekly requests for: a blog written by a mama who waited until she was in her 40s to have a baby.

Antique Mommy's masthead says it all:

I was 44 when I had my baby. This blog chronicles the joys and challenges of living in the brave new world of hot flashes, sloppy cookie kisses and trimming itty bitty fingernails while wearing bi-focals. Sometimes sweet, sometimes tart, but always real.

Antique Mommy was nominated by Veronica for her "humor and class." While I probably wouldn't recognize class if it hit me upside the head with a caviar spoon, I DO like to think I know a think or two about what's funny.
