Did you know the good people at ClubMom have the day off today? For Mother's Day? How awesome is that?
However, there is no rest for the weary ClubMom blogger. I must soldier on! And I must not glare too hard at my husband who JUST LAST NIGHT turned to me and said, "Oh yeah, I guess we're supposed to do Mother's Day now? I mean, do you care?"
(HINT: YES.)
In honor of Mother's Day, Kara from Cape Buffalo organized a very special, very ambitous "bloggect" (blog + project = blaw-ject = clever!). It's a veritable one-stop shopping list of amazing Mother's Day tributes by a host of different bloggers.
(And since Kara's site is your one-stop shop, just think of me as the overpriced middleman.)
Warning: Once you get started reading all the various entries about moms, grandmoms, wives or just this crazy thing called motherhood, the next thing you know, it'll be like, 10 hours and three boxes of tissues later.
To help get you started, here are a few of my favorites from the collaboration:
Candace from Suburban Misfit: You'll always be "baby" to me
Sherry from Chaos Theory: Balancing the priorities
Mary P from It's Not All Mary Poppins: Musings on Motherhood
Kristen from Home on the Fringe: Mom, as you can see, some things NEVER change
Mr. Big Dubya: Moms
What are you still doing here? Go! Read!
And then go call your mom.

Thanks for the nod, Amalah!

What a fantastic idea. I liked it so much, I went ahead and added my own essay. Thanks for the heads up, Amalah!

Thanks for all your work on this! I have my own entry for moms who have lost children if you want to check it out, too. It's kind of a difficult subject, but one that warrants some thought... thanks!

Cool! I love one shop-stopping (or is it one-stop shopping?). I just posted my little Mother's Day thingie maybe a bit late for the party, but dammit, I did it ON TIME as opposed to my Valentine's Day thingie that was posted on Feb. 15th.

This made me do an entry/letter to my mom, because she's so awesome, and really, I don't think I ever told her how much I love her.
So thank you. Now, I did.
And happy Mother's Day, Amy. Noah's a lucky kid.

Thank you for including me in your list of favorites, I'm really flattered (and the sudden increase in traffic is giving me performance anxiety, jeez!).
I've really been loving this, I'm finding so many great blogs thanks to you. I always loved your regular site so this is a nice extension.
Happy Mother's Day!

I've been on vacation and just now saw this - thank you so much for including Home on the Fringe! Like Candace and Sherry, we're honored. The bloggect Kara came up with really was great.

Hi Amy,
I just discovered you're up and running over here. Congratulations on getting this great job! I just ran a "Mother's Love" contest on my site encouraging women to blog about their wonderful moms. People sent essays from several different countries, and I learned what it takes to make a great mom! Come visit sometime! :)

Wow - thanks for listing me as one of your favorites. I was just taking a look at some of my stats and I had 300 hits in one day (about 300x my usual) and was a tad confused as to where everyone was coming from. And to be the only daddy blogger on your list of favorites is certainly an honor. I might have to spruce up my place a bit after this.
Anyway, thanks for the mention - much appreciated.
